MALVERN, PA – The Chester County Department of Health seeks to help residents stay healthy during the flu season by offering free flu clinics in the area. And Great Valley Middle School is home to a clinic.
County officials said that there would be a flu clinic open to the public starting at 2:30 pm. at 6 pm on Thursday, September 27th at Great Valley High School.
The Department of Health will carry the following flu shots this season:
- Four-strain influenza vaccine for people 6 months and older.
- Flublok No Influenza-Free Flu Vaccine for People Aged 18 Years and Older.
- Fluzone at high dose for people aged 65 and over.
Influenza vaccines will be available for people 6 months of age and older. Consent forms will be available in the clinics.
Insureds are required to bring insurance cards.
Your health insurance coverage will be confirmed before receiving the vaccine. If you do not have health insurance or if your health insurance does not cover the flu shot, a four-strain flu shot will be provided free of charge.
The Department of Health is unable to provide the influenza vaccine to adults (aged 19 and over) who participate in any of the medical assistance plans for patients.
PA medical assistance plans include:
- Keystone First;
- United Community Community Plan;
- Health partners;
- Coventry Cares;
- and Aetna Better Health.
Please consult your primary care provider or participating pharmacy for the vaccine. The flu shot is available for free for children benefiting from a medical assistance insurance plan.
Great Valley Middle School is located at 225 N. Phoenixville Pike, Malvern.
