WASHINGTON – Are not we all tired of the usual election stories?

To relieve yourself and only a few hours before the big day, let's take a look at the millions of pages of campaign finance reports and find out which celebrities have spent the biggest amount of this election cycle.

Among the winners are two people linked to the wacky world of animated television comedy.

Seth McFarlane, who created "Family Guy", gave a total of about 2.15 million dollars, including 2 million to the PAC, to the Senate majority. This committee supports Democratic candidates who are trying to regain control of the Senate.

McFarlane also donated $ 67,800 each to the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee, which is doing the same thing, and to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. DCCC supports Democrats in home runs.

Yeardley Smith, who is Lisa Simpson's voice of "The Simpsons," donated $ 252,531, including $ 250,000 to the "Equality Votes" human rights campaign, Super PAC. This committee, affiliated with the pro-LGBTQ Human Rights Campaign, bears the cost of advertising and other services supporting Democratic candidates or Republican opponents.

Other major celebrity donors are:

  • Actress Kate Capshaw gave $ 334,800, all to Democratic groups or candidates
  • Singer Barbra Streisand, $ 158,450 to Democrats and Candidates
  • Actress Jane Fonda, $ 41,787 to candidates and democratic committees
  • Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway's "Hamilton" hit, donated $ 30.00 to the Latino Victory Fund
  • Peyton Manning, former NFL quarterback, stuck by one of his former receivers when he played for the Colts of Indianapolis, donating $ 5,400 to Republican House candidate Anthony Gonzalez

Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill, who led a tight re-election campaign against Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, is one of the largest recipients of celebrity donations.

Donors include Streisand, Capshaw, Black Jack, Meryl Streep and Don Cheadle.

In total, those who identified themselves as actors or actresses gave more than $ 6.6 million during the election cycle.
