As many as 20 people have been injured – at least two critically – when crashed into the lobby of a Social Security office in South Jersey on Tuesday morning, officials said.
A driver reportedly was trying to park the car – which was carrying three passengers, including two children – when it suddenly slammed into the lobby of the building in Egg Harbor Township, where dozens of people were waiting, at 9:50 am, according to police and local reports.
Andy Lalasis, whose ribs were bruised, told the Press of Atlantic City that he saw "flying bodies" in the accident.
"It was like a disaster movie … I saw one guy just falling in front of me," Lalasis told the outlet, according to a video posted on Twitter.
A female passenger who has been suffering from a severe injury, and the children have been reported.
At least 15 people were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and were taken to AtlantiCare's Mainland Campus in Galloway Township, spokesperson Jennifer Tornetta said.
Police said the crash appeared to be accidental.
A regional spokesman for the Social Security Administration said the incident is under investigation by the Egg Harbor Township police.
