Firefighters fight a fire in a Colts Neck home.

NECK COLTS – Several people died at the scene of a fire on a property on Willow Brook Road, the Monmouth County District Attorney's Office confirmed.

One person was found dead in front of the house and there were two other deaths inside the house. according to a report by NBC New York. Asbury Park Press has not yet confirmed the report independently.

Investigators from the prosecutor's office are on the scene, spokesman Christopher Swendeman said.

According to a helicopter footage released by NBC New York, part of the yard adjacent to the burning house was stuck with yellow police tape and a sheet placed in the middle of the yard.

Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire, according to the prosecutor's office.

The road is off Route 34 in the center of the township.

The house is located in a wealthy neighborhood and is worth more than $ 1.5 million, according to public records.

The house belongs to Keith Caneiro, 50, and Jennifer Caneiro, 45, according to public information.

The two-story house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's 5,700 square feet with a basement of 5,700 square feet, according to Zillow.com. The owners bought the property in 1998 and the house was built in 2003.

A structural fire also occurred this morning at 27 Tilton Drive in the Township of Ocean, said Lt. Timothy Torchia of the Ocean Township Police Department.

Public records show that the house belongs to Paul and Susan Caneiro.

Torchia refused to give more information about the fire of the Township of Ocean.

"We are working with the prosecutor's office," he said. "They are the lead agency".

A Caneiro neighbor located on Willow Brook Road in Colts Neck, reachable by phone, indicated that she had passed the house in front of the house around 1 pm. and smelled of smoke, but thought that the occupants had a fire burning in the chimney.

"Ten minutes later, I heard that there was a big fire," said the woman, who refused to give his name.

"The smoke seems to have dissipated a bit," she said around 2 pm. "I hear a lot of helicopters."

The woman said that she did not know the people who lived in the house in flames.

"I live on an equestrian farm," she said. "I live far from the road."
