Several powerful earthquakes have been reported near Vancouver Island, Canada, including a magnitude of 6.8.

The US Geological Survey reports that several powerful earthquakes were reported Sunday night. The largest depth is about 10 km and strikes about 239 km west of Tofino, Canada.

Geophysicist Amy Vaughan said the three largest earthquakes ranged from 6.5 to 6.8, and there may have been smaller ones as well as replicas. Vaughan says the earthquakes were slightly felt on the coast and so far no injuries have been reported.

The National Tsunami Warning Center tweeted that a tsunami is "unplanned".
