A World Cup reporter in Russia was sexually harassed by a spectator during a live broadcast for at least the third time in a week. This time, she avoided her advances.
The latest victim of this rampant harassment is Julia Guimarães, a Brazilian TV journalist for Sport TV who reported on Sunday's Senegal-Japan match in Yekaterinburg. With the speed of a goalkeeper from the World Cup, she dismissed an unidentified man trying to kiss him during the report.
"Do not do that, never do it again," Guimarães said as the man apologized off camera. "I never allow you to do that, never, never mind, it's not polite, it's not ok, never do that, never do that to a woman."
With Amanda Kestelman of Globo Esporte, Guimarães has already written about what they describe as "a hostile environment" for women journalists covering the World Cup in Russia. She explained to Globo that she had also been a victim of sexual harassment before the match between Egypt and Uruguay in Moscow.

Colombian journalist sexually harassed in Russia
Guimarães is not the only female journalist to endure this harassment on camera. Colombian journalist Julieth Gonzalez Theran was reporting for the German news station Deutsche Welle last week when a World Cup spectator caught her by the chest and kissed her on the cheek . In a real feat of professionalism, Theran managed to conclude his report before looking for the author.
World Cup fans also harassed a Swedish journalist
Two days later, a Swedish correspondent, Malin Wahlberg, was invaded by a group of fans, some of whom tried to kiss her on the cheek, wrapped their arms around her and ruffled her hair . She has also succeeded in continuing to publish reports on the Swedish TV channel Sportbladet.
Guimarães, apparently, had seen enough, calling his attacker – and for good reason.
