FREEPORT – A Walton County Sheriff's deputy working during the night shift captured an incredible video of the Falcon 9's launch. SpaceX Friday morning early.
Video posted to the sheriff's office The Facebook and Twitter pages show the rocket, with an illuminated golden tail, traveling through the dark sky. According to spokesman Corey Dobridnia, the deputy was sitting in his car on the side of the National Highway 20.
The launch is part of the 15th mission of commercial business replenishment services, according to the website of SpaceX. The Dragon spacecraft was launched from Falcon 9 at the Cape Canaveral Air Station in Florida just before 6 am Friday. The Dragon is bound for the International Space Station and should arrive there on July 1st.
