The couple filed for divorce after about two years of marriage, said Tuesday to a representative of the star of the "Transformers". "The separation is amicable and all the details of the divorce proceedings will remain confidential," said the representative.
The two met while working on Lars von Trier's 2013 film "Nymphomaniac: Vol. II "and got married in October 2016 at a busy Las Vegas ceremony. LaBeouf told Ellen DeGeneres a few days later that the two men were actually married, but they did not want to live the marriage.
Representatives of both parties did not immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment.
The announcement of the divorce follows a report that LaBeouf and actress FKA Twigs are coming out together.
Twigs appears in the upcoming film "LaBeouf", "Honey Boy", based freely on his life about a childish star who is trying to improve his relationship with his alcoholic father.
