No Coulson? No problem!
ABC announced Friday that it has resumed The agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from Marvel for a seventh season – several months before the premiere of season 6.
Season 5 of the Superhero Spy series, featuring a handful of characters and concepts from Marvel comics and other originals, ended in the spring with the apparent death of the long-time team leader Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). At the time, executive producers Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jeffrey Bell told EW that they had written the final of Season 5 as a potential final of the series, fearing that they not be renewed. the episode was even titled "The End". But just when Coulson challenged his death at the hands of Loki in The Avengerslikewise, his show has come to an end with unexpected longevity.
Although everything is possible when talking about comic book characters, Gregg told EW that he was pretty sure Coulson's story was over. Gregg will return to the series for another title, however, as the director of the first episode of season 6. In addition, Gregg will be the younger version of Coulson in March Captain Marvel film, which takes place in the 90s. But nowadays, it seems that his team of confidence will have to fly without him.
