Shin Lim has achieved the ultimate magic trick by winning America has talent.
The 26-year-old self-taught magician tells PEOPLE that he still can not believe co-host Tyra Banks has announced him as the winner of season 13 at Wednesday's result show.
"For me, everything was like a dream. When Tyra announced my name, I fell into shock, "says Lim, who was born in Canada and currently lives in Acton, Massachusetts.
"I could not really hear, because the guns exploded behind me. It was quite memorable. I will definitely remember that feeling for the rest of my life, "he adds.
Less than 24 hours after hearing about his name as a champion, Lim is getting used to winning $ 1 million and a concert at the Paris Theater in Paris Las Vegas from November 2nd to 4th. .
"It's a little settling but it's still unclear. I really can not believe that a card magician can win AGT like that. Wizards in general have trouble in the series, so for me to be part of the Top 5, it was like it was awesome, "says Lim, who ate an In-N-Out burger just after the results to celebrate his victory.
"I could not have asked for a better platform. I could not have asked for more than that. It's such a moving and memorable memory that I try to keep it. I do not want to forget it, "he adds.
Coming back on his season 13 trip, Lim admits that he has a regret.
"The quarter-finals, I wish it was better. I guess I was not focused enough, "he says. "I think I may have been nervous. It was not my best performance. I wish we could have been better. "

During his time on AGTLim talked about his carpal tunnel syndrome, where he was diagnosed at age 20 and forced him to give up his career as a pianist.
"I think the best thing to learn from my story is that there is always another way. Even when one door closes, another opens because there is always another way out. I really thought my career was over when I stopped playing the piano because that's all I did, "he says. "I practiced three hours a day since the age of nine. My parents, my friends, my teachers, they all thought that I was going to be a concert pianist, so that was also my vision. I thought everything was over for a year.
As a hobby, Lim had practiced magic from the age of 16, but quickly realized that it was his passion.
"But the magic started to take shape and I started making money with magic. I thought, "Wow, that's possible. That's what I want to say to people: you can do it, "he says.
After his big AGT Win, Lim, who calls the magical star to Lance Burton's idol, looks to impress fans with even bigger big plans and sleight of hand.
"Something in the style of the finale," he mocks at his shows at the Paris theater. "The final gave me hope and inspiration so that I could continue to do things like that. This has given me a lot of hope.
