A few days ago, Shohei Ohtani would probably have undergone surgery for his damaged UCL. He has been following a therapy for his ligament for a few months now and the hope was that these treatments and a little rest (he recently returned to the team as a drummer) would be enough to avoid getting under the knife, which would mean to miss the next season and maybe part of the following year.
Now, Ohtani says that he's not quite sure that he will be operated on – even though he seems resigned and that he just needs time to come to terms with it. what that means – but will end this season on the plate. according to OC registerJeff Fletcher.
Seeing that shortly after his release he was probably going to be operated on, Ohtani hit two home runs, he is clearly healthy to hit (which we knew) and wants to have another raking month before that. it is out of order. long.
Fletcher also reports, no less surprising but encouraging, that Ohtani has not considered abandoning half of his game configuration in either direction.
