Two suspects are in custody after firing on three pedestrians walking in the Fillmore district on Friday night, San Francisco police said.
Three victims were walking along the 1700 block of Eddy Street when a vehicle arrived and someone opened fire on the trio around 6:45 pm, said Lieutenant Christopher Creed of the San Police Department. Francisco.
In one video Posted by Kristofer Noceda, Editor-in-Chief of NBC Bay Area, Creed said the intervention officers provided first aid until two of the victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital.
The third victim later arrived at the same hospital. It is unclear whether the third victim went to the hospital or was driven by a companion, said Creed.
All three victims sustained life-threatening injuries.
Creed said police officers from the Van Ness area had spotted what they thought was the vehicle involved in the shooting and had begun pursuing it.
The suspect's vehicle crashed during the pursuit and the driver and passenger fled on foot before being stopped.
Police found one or two firearms in possession of the two suspects, said Creed.
Constable Grace Gatpandan, spokesperson for SFPD, confirmed that the police were holding "individuals" who may be linked to the shooting. She did not disclose the identity of these individuals.
The police did not immediately reveal any information about possible charges against the suspects.
