Several people were injured Friday night in a shootout in the Fillmore District, police said.

Shots rang out on Scott and Eddy streets at 6:42 pm, said SFPD spokesman Joseph Tomlinson.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions were unknown Friday night, said officer Grace Gatpandan, spokesperson for the SFPD.

Gatpandan said the police were arresting "individuals" possibly linked to the shooting. She did not disclose the identity of these individuals.

Police gave little details on Friday night and could not confirm the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries.

The activity of the police should affect traffic in the vicinity. Travelers can expect delays.
