Sigourney Weaver calls "incredible" the theatrical adaptation of High School N.J. in a video

Sigourney Weaver, one of the stars of the original movie "Alien", noticed an adaptation of the famous horror film space by students of North Bergen High School.

Weaver, who played the role of Lt. Ellen Ripley in the 1979 film as well as in her three sequels, appeared in a 40-second video praising the production, hailed as a hit by others celebrities and turned into a sensation of social media.

"I've seen a bit of your production of Alien," said Weaver about a theatrical production titled "Alien: The Play." "I just want to say that it looked incredible, you put so much heart and soul into it and the stranger, I must say, seemed very real to me, I just wanted to send our compliments – not only from me, but from James Cameron and original screenwriter Walter Hill, we all say: well done – well done. "

The space-themed set includes students dressed in swimsuits like NASA, as well as ominous and galactic grounds and ruins.

The drama teacher Perfecto Cuervo, a drama professor, said that art teacher Steven Defendini was the brains behind the design of the set. The team has been working since September to bring this scary space-scape to life. Chef Justin Pierson, who worked on the sound team for the piece, said the decor was made up mostly of recycled materials.

Cuervo responded on Twitter Thursday morning, saying the drama club was "deeply honored and blown away" by Sigourney's praise. "Children can not stop shouting!"

The show debuted at North Bergen High School on March 19, and many asked the school to present other shows, but teachers said they were not sure the budget was enough money to make it work.

That changed on Monday morning, when the non-profit foundation of North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco pledged funds for more performances.

Weaver concluded his comments with a warning for North Bergen students.

"And just one last thing. The stranger may still be there. So when you open your locker, do it very slowly. "
