Gary Numan is "devastated" after his tour bus crushed and killed a pedestrian.

Numan's bus, while in Cleveland on Monday afternoon, was turning right when he hit a 91-year-old man pushing a cart across the road, reports Cleveland News 5.

The old man – whose name has not been published – was declared dead on the scene.

The musician, best known for his "Cars" hit in 1979, was scheduled to perform at the House of Blues in Cleveland on Monday night as part of his six-month international tour. The show was canceled after the incident.

"We are all devastated by the deadly crash involving our bus to Cleveland today," wrote Numan on Twitter soon after. "All of us are filled with a sadness that made it impossible to think about playing our show tonight, and out of respect that would have been completely wrong."

Numan, 60, apologized for the last-minute change, adding that he hoped fans would understand the unforeseen circumstances.

"I'm sure you can understand why we canceled and I apologize to House Of Blues and fans for any difficulty or disappointment that this decision may have caused," he continued. "All tickets will be honored at the time of purchase."

"At the moment, all we can think of is the people affected by this terrible tragedy and for them, we send all our love," concluded Numan.

It is not known if Numan was on the tour bus at the time of the accident.

The venue, which was the first to confirm the cancellation of the show, also issued a statement after the tragic accident.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight's show with Gary Numan at House of Blues Cleveland has been canceled," the site wrote. "Refunds will be available at the time of purchase."

According to Cleveland News 5, there was no arrest at that time. The driver, police said at the station, did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and the bus had not been damaged.

Police are still investigating and will rely on surveillance cameras in the area for more information.

Numan is currently in international tour, promoting his album 2017 Savage (songs from a broken world). The singer has four shows in front of him this week in Kentucky, Nebraska, Colorado and Utah, before traveling to Canada on October 1.

There has been no word as to whether his next show, scheduled for tomorrow in Louisville, KY, will run as planned.
