Ozil captained Arsenal as they looked to make it 12 wins in a row in all competitions.

The German came into the game with a stunning performance in the 3-1 win over Leicester last Monday.

However, it was not possible to have the same impact today and was made clear when Unai Emery subsitututing him after 68 minutes.

Arsenal were winning 2-1 at the time goal a second Luka Milivojevic penalty drew level and the points were shared.

And after the game, Liverpool legend Souness asked Mesut Ozil showed more passion when being substituted than he did during the time he was on the pitch.

"I still think they are much the same, I think typified by Ozil," said Souness of Arsenal.

"To be fair, Ozil showed a great deal of passion when he was subbed today, that's the most I've ever seen him show in a game of football.

"There's no good showing petulance like that, you're the captain.

"When you're on the pitch, show courage to get on the ball when you're not dominating, show real passion.

"Maybe you're not built for it, but certainly make an attempt.

"Make a few challenges, win the ball back for your team – he does not do that.

"I'm sorry to harp on me, but I think it's a good thing that you should have such influence."

Arsenal will look to return to winning ways on Wednesday when Blackpool visit in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool next to the Emirates next Saturday in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's side extended their unbeaten start to the league season with a 4-1 win over Cardiff on Saturday.
