"Weekend Update" also usurped a video allegedly falsified tweeted by press officer Sarah Huckabee Sanders of the incident.

Saturday Night Live parodied the recent incident between a trainee at the White House and CNN's White House correspondent Jim Acosta, in the November 10 edition of "Weekend Update".

In a statement, the White House suspended Acosta's press credentials for what press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders described as "absolutely unacceptable" conduct. After an interaction with the internal press, which attempted to remove the microphone from Acosta 's hand during a press conference, an allegedly altered video was broadcast and tweeted by Sanders.

During "Weekend Update", Cecily Strong appeared as a press trainee aggressively trying to take a microphone to Colin Jost, co-host of the office.

"My boss said you could not come to the White House anymore," she said at one point. When Jost asked why, she answered because he had hit her.

Strong then demanded to roll the cassette of the incident, and a heavily edited clip of his previous interaction with Jost included a comic book-strike effect and a cut-off of superimposed clips of people falling.

"My boss tweeted it, so it's real," said Strong, as a trainee.
