Major airlines waive change fees as a winter storm threatens the Midwest, as millions of travelers prepare to return home after Thanksgiving holidays.

The details vary from one carrier to the other, but – in general – waivers allow affected customers to make a change to their itinerary without paying any up-to-date fees up to $ 200.

Weather derogations occur as Kansas states in Michigan could see the winter weather from Saturday to Monday.

The storm could make it difficult for Thanksgiving travelers to return home after the holidays. This Thanksgiving holiday should be the busiest of all time for air travel, and Sunday should be the busiest day of the Thanksgiving season.

Until now, cancellations were not a problem. At the national level, only about 30 flights were canceled on Saturday morning at 8:00 am ET, according to the FlightAware Flight Tracker. But travelers flying this weekend should be alert to potential hot spots, especially if they cross the Midwest.
