Soldier returns from Florence to find house burglar

A nurse from the North Carolina Army, who was on active duty in the state to help hurricane Florence, returned home Friday to find that he had been stolen.

National Guard Luis Ocampo worked in the city of New Bern by the river for 10 days after being beaten by the strong winds and high waters of the terrible storm.

Ocampo returned to his Charlotte home on Friday. But when he did, he discovered that it was not just a cruel nature. Her house had been robbed. A large television, a game system and a laptop were among the stolen items.

Ocampo said the food was also stolen and stolen from his refrigerator.

Ocampo said that his girlfriend and his son had checked the house Thursday night, but that in the morning everything had been taken. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirmed that she was investigating.

A GoFundMe page was created for Ocampo and raised nearly $ 15,000 Saturday night.
