The Macau Grand Prix was paralyzed during a Formula 3 race when the German driver Sophia Floersch flew into the air after a crash at high speed.
Floersch, only 17 years old, lost control of her Van Amersfoort Racing car while she was heading to the tight corner of the right corner and hitting the inside wall.
She then jumped back to the bend and, after cutting the sidewalk, her car took off before hitting her compatriot Sho Tsuboi at incredible speed.
The result of the impact then propelled her up into the air where she was catapulted into the debris fence before her car hit a photographers' bunker and landed on her wheels.
The spectators present captured this terrifying film from every angle. His vision was more like a movie than a race.
After sitting in 16th place, Floersch reportedly hit the back of Jehan Daruvala in the straight line before losing control.
The speed-trap had pushed it to 276.2 km / h before the braking zone in the Lisboa corner.
Ferrari junior driver Guan Yu Zhou, who was behind Floersch, explained the unfolding crash that followed the race.
"First of all, it was such a scary moment," Zhou said.
"Sophia was very close to Jehan, so when Jehan braked early, she did not have time to react.
"She hit Jehan's right-back, who turned it directly to Lisboa and landed in the other car.
"I just hope she's fine."
Despite the huge impact of the accident, the FIA confirmed that Floersch was aware and was being transported to the hospital.
"A serious incident occurred in round 4 of the 2018 FIA F3 World Cup in Macao involving car No. 25 Sophia Florsch (GER)," the statement said.
"After evaluation by the medical staff, the driver is aware and has subsequently been taken to the hospital for further evaluation."
Unfortunately, the result of the accident is over with five people in total taken to the hospital with two drivers, two photographers and a track marshal.
An update from Macao officials after the race confirmed that the upcoming rider suffered a fractured spine in the crash, her vital signs are stable.
The incredible impact of the accident was captured above the turn and slowed to show the moment Floersch took off and cut the barrier before his car was returned to the bunker.
Reports indicate that Tsuboi suffers from lower back pain. The runway superintendent, Chan Cha In, suffered a laceration in the face, an abrasion of the upper wall of the abdomen and a fractured jaw.
Photographer Minami Hiroyuki was caught off guard while another photographer, Chan Weng Wang, was diagnosed with a laceration of the liver. Both are observed at the hospital.
Floersch informed her fans after the race that she was "fine" but that she was about to be operated on Monday morning (AEDT).
"I just wanted everyone to know that I'm fine but I'm going to have surgery tomorrow morning," she tweeted.
"Thanks to the FIA, the manager of HWA AG and Mercedes AMG who take great care of me.
"Thank you all for the messages of support. Update soon. "
The team's director, Frits van Amersfoort, told Autosport: "We must thank the angels that she had with her today and for the fantastic power of the Dallara car."
Floersch is considered one of the rising stars of motor sport.
Previously, she had raced in F4 – and entered history in her first race by becoming the first woman to score points in a Formula 4 ADAC race.
She also broke records by becoming the youngest driver to win a Ginneta Junior Championship.
The race was immediately signaled by the red flag and delayed by more than an hour, the barrier having been repaired and the wounded also assisted.
After returning from the race, it was Dan Ticktum, Red Bull Junior, who crossed the finish line first and claimed the checkered flag.
The victory of Ticktum allows him to win the victory in Macao two years in a row.
The impressive 19-year-old escaped the carnage behind him as he led the race from start to finish.
After a long delay, Ticktum moved away from the field and took the win 1.2 seconds ahead of his teammate Motopark Academy, Joel Eriksson.
The Renault Formula 1 driver, Sacha Fenestraz, took his place on the podium after crossing the finish line in third place.
In total, eight riders failed to finish after several falls during the race, but it was the horrific fall of Floersch that caught the attention of everyone.
