Khalil Mack dominates the NFL in 2018.
Giants Lawrence Taylor dominated for a decade.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick plans the game against Mack and the Bears ahead of this weekend's game. So he was asked how Mack compared himself to the greatest almost unanimous defensive player in the history of the NFL.
Belichick was the defensive coordinator of the Giants under Bill Parcells in Taylor's 80s era.

"Now, wait a minute, we're talking about Lawrence Taylor now," Belichick told the press. "I do not put anyone in the class (LT), put everyone under, and with a lot of respect for a lot of good players, we're talking about Lawrence Taylor."
The comments did not take long to attract the attention of Taylor, who showed his agreement with a publication on Twitter. Taylor had 132.5 official bags during her 13-year career ending in 1993, but the NFL did not recognize the bags until her second season (1982).

Exchanged by the Bears Raiders before the season due to a contract dispute and a hold-up, Mack had 19 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles and one interception came back for a touchdown. He is well positioned to win the defensive player of the year award in the NFL for the second time.
Taylor is the last defensive player to win the Most Valuable Player honors in the NFL (1986).
"He's tall, strong and fast," Belichick said of Mack. "He has a lot of power, he's doing a good job and he's fast enough to take the advantage, he has a good knowledge of the ball, so he's doing a good job against the quarterback when he has to attack him, but if he has a chance to take out the ball, he has a good knowledge of the ball and can remove it. "
Taylor said the ESPN documentary "The Two Bills", released earlier this year, claimed that he did not want Belichick as the Giants' defensive coordinator.
"You're kidding," Taylor said. "This is not one of us, this guy has never played football, he probably has the habit of playing table tennis, it took a few years, but Belichick really won our respect.
