An "unruly" passenger was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight between Chicago and Houston after shouting a racial insult to a flight attendant.

Witnesses said the woman was upset after the flight attendant asked her to get her tablet up on Saturday morning before takeoff. according to ABC 13.

"Our reports indicate that a customer refused to comply with the instructions of our flight crew after boarding and before takeoff from Chicago," Southwest Airlines said in a statement Monday in the United States. "The client became unruly and verbally abused our flight attendants."
