(HealthDay) – Passengers and crew of four flights of Southwest Airlines inside Texas at the end of August are warned they may have been exposed to measles. Officials said that a passenger who took the four flights for two days was diagnosed later with measles, USA today reported.
The flights were as follows: Tuesday, August 21, Flight 5 from Dallas Love Field to Houston Hobby; Tuesday, August 21, Houston Hobby Flight 9 to Harlingen, Texas; Wednesday, August 22, flight 665 from Harlingen to Houston; Wednesday, August 22, Flight 44 from Houston Hobby to Dallas Love Field.
The airline and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are alerting passengers on these flights. The airline said it was also notified of crews on these flights.
In a letter from the Dallas County Health and Social Services Department, passengers were asked to monitor the potential symptoms of measles until September 11, as the highly contagious virus incubation period can reach 21 days. NBC 5 in Dallas reported, according to USA today.
