Tonight's Full Beaver Moon, also known as Frost Moon or Moon in Mourning, will culminate at 9:28 pm UK time (UTC). The Full Moon appeared today at 5:39 am GMT, while Britain was slowly getting up from sleep. The name Beaver's Moon comes from the ancient traditions of Native American tribes living along the eastern regions of the United States.
Native tribes would name each phase of the lunar cycle's full moon to keep track of the time.
The names of the moons would reflect the changes in the landscape and the seasons.
Amy Nieskens, from the Old Farmer's Almanac, explained: "Centuries ago, Native Americans followed the changing seasons by giving a distinct name to each Full Moon – names that we still use today.
"The November Full Moon was known as the Moon of Geese, Frost Moon, and perhaps the most famous, the Full Moon Beaver.

"It is traditionally at this time of the year that beavers are actively preparing for winter and also time to set traps before swamps freeze, to ensure the supply of warm furs in winter."
The energy of a Full Moon is intensified and emotions, feelings, mental processes
But thanks to the powerful glow and strange presence of the moon at night, many people think that the glowing orb has a much deeper spiritual meaning.
In some esoteric beliefs, the Full Moon represents the "inner world" of our emotions, desires, worries, and dreams.
The Sun, on the other hand, represents an opposing force of the "outside world" of our ego, personality, and identity.

Accordion for Simone Matthews, from UniversaLifeTools.com, the Full Moon can be both an intense and stimulating energy.
She wrote on her website: "The energy of a Full Moon – influenced by the current zodiac transit – is exacerbated and emotions, feelings, mental processes, dreams, etc., are all amplified.
"When the Sun and the Moon are in opposition during the Full Moon, it can cause uncomfortable tension and friction, but at the same time a greater amplification of vision and potential possibilities."
Astrologers generally consider that the Sun and the Moon are the two most powerful celestial bodies that dictate the flows and rhythms of our lives.

On the spiritual plane, the Moon is considered a powerful force and its presence is found in various religious traditions.
In Judaism and Christianity, as described in Genesis 1: 14-16, the Moon and the Sun were the first two "lights" created by God in the creation of the world.
The Full Moon is also an unwelcome elected official of the pagan traditions where it is considered as a manifestation of the perpetual cycle of life, death and return.
Many people who still follow ancient traditions rooted in paganism and esotericism use the Full Moon to purify themselves of bad thoughts, undesirable energies and forces.

According to Lisa Chamberlain's small book of Wiccan spells, spending time in the light of a full moon serves as a "ritual bath."
The book reads: "Spending time with the Full Moon in a ritual bath eliminates the" noise "of a busy day and allows you to reconnect with your magical self.
"This is particularly useful to do before using any other Full Moon magic, as this will help you adapt to the psychic energies of this special time."
We also think that different spells are more powerful when they are cast direct moonlight and some people even claim to draw energy directly from the moon.
