SpaceX recently updated Starman's status aboard the Tesla Roadster that he launched into space earlier this year.

Starman overtook Mars, the aerospace company said Friday in a tweet.
"Next step is the restaurant at the end of the universe," said SpaceX, referring to the comic science fiction series "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

The space company launched Starman in his roadster aboard a Falcon Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida in February.

When it was launched, the roadster was playing "Space Oddity", a David Bowie song.
The trip will help test Starman's SpaceX space suit and prepare for future manned spaceflight, the company said.
