A ravine of blocked goals, one-point wins and opposing red and blue jerseys separates Penn State fans and players from their opponents from the Ohio State. But a Buckeyes fan recently crossed the gap with a generosity that saved her life when she donated her kidney to Penn Stater George Labecki, as reported by Fox 43.

Labecki, of New Cumberland, Pa., Was diagnosed with stage IV renal failure in 2017. He was placed on a donor list for a new kidney, but he knew that it would take a lot of time to find an equivalent. He decided to take things in hand.

Labecki announced his situation on Facebook in order to speed up the process and finally found some potential matches. Everything changed when he learned that Lindsay Wenrich – a high school student at Cedar Cliff High School, where Labecki had previously taught – was a perfect match.

When Wenrich, a fan of the state of Ohio, discovered that her kidney was compatible, she knew she had to relay the news to Labecki brilliantly. Knowing that he was a fan of Penn State, Wenrich introduced himself as the Nittany Lion and revealed his compatibility in a sincere way.

The pair is still two weeks away from the donation process, but it created a bond that began with Cedar Cliff High School and turned into a friendship.

"I'm going to have a scarlet kidney but a heart that beats blue and white", Labecki said Fox 43.
