The Gujarat government announced Friday that the recently inaugurated Statue of Unity near Kevadia village in Narmada district will soon be served by air and rail networks.
Prime Minister Vijay Rupani held talks on the subject with the highest officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Railway Council, during his visit to Delhi on Friday, announced the release of the government.
After meeting with the President of the IAA, Guruprasad Mohapatra, Mr. Rupani announced the construction of an airport in the city of Rajpipla, in the Narmada district, to allow tourists to see the tall statue. of 182 meters, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The town of Rajpipla is about 23 km from Kevadia.
The statement added that the IAA will extend its support to the state government for the construction of airports in Rajpipla, Dholera and Rajkot.
Mr. Rupani also met with the President of the Railway Directorate, Ashwani Lohani, about various railway connectivity projects in Gujarat, including laying tracks up to Kevadia, according to the statement. .
During the meeting, it was decided to speed up the laying of the railway to Kevadia, the statement added.
The tallest statue in the world, built near the Sardar Sarovar Dam, was dedicated to the nation on October 31 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
