OAKLAND – The M-V-P vocals inside Oracle Arena began slowly for Stephen Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors. However, on Wednesday night, as Curry climbed onto a shooting screen, the serenade went wild.
Curry has scored 51 points on 15 of 24 shots since the Warriors suffered the first decisive defeat of the season against Washington, 144-122.

Curry needed only three quarters to exceed 50 and totaled as much as three points (11) as Washington was only pepper spray rubbed into the wound. With the defeat, the Wizards fell to 1-3 and they have three games left on the road.
The Wizards played with the balance with six players reaching double, led by Bradley Beal's 23 points on 10 out of 15 shots. The team shot accurately, despite returning to the game early in the season with a three points (12 out of 42, 28.6%). Washington even scored at will and was only 80-73 points behind early in the third quarter.
However, these efforts have been diminished by the blinding glow of Curry's offending show.

In the first five games of the Warriors, Curry scored at least five three-point markers to send an NBA mark, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Warrior coach Steve Kerr said before Wednesday's game that Curry's shots had strengthened the team as the other snipers were still looking for their mark at the start of the year.
"We have the habit with Steph," Kerr said. "It's just so consistent and deadly, but it's been particularly useful because our other three-point shots are not yet known, it's only a matter of time, especially with KD [Kevin Durant] and Klay [Thompson]But with these two guys starting a little bit off the line, Steph was really pretty hot from there.

Durant (30 points) and Thompson (19) combined to make only 2 of 8 three, but they do not need to be on the mark. Curry possessed the warm hand.
In the third quarter, when Golden State broke away from the Wizards, Curry scored five points, including a 32-foot pull-up. At that time, the M-V-P songs were unstoppable – just like Curry.
