After Amazon announced that Arlington, Virginia and Queens of New York would be the location of its second seat, the company's CEO, Jeff Bezos, interpreted by this week's host, Steve Carell, came to explain his decision in a special video message broadcast the Saturday Night Live.
"As you know, Amazon has just announced the location of its two new headquarters in New York and Virginia, and everyone – with the exception of the people who live there and the people who live in all the places we have not chosen – is delighted ", Carell, as Bezos, said.
Carell's Bezos spent the rest of the message making fun of the president who had waged a war against Amazon and his CEO on Twitter. He denied choosing Trump headquarters, his former hometown of Queens, close to his current seat in Washington DC for the new headquarters, as a means of controlling the president.
"I chose our sites because they were perfect for the growth of the company, not just to make Donald Trump think about how literally I'm 100 times richer than him," said Carell's Bezos.
He also evoked Trump's uncompromising immigration policy, announcing "a brand new delivery option, Amazon Caravan".
"All parcels destined for a Trump building will be delivered by hundreds of Honduran and Mexican immigrants."
Trump's business history and hair were also targets. Ordering Trump's book, "The Art of the Deal", is more expensive to ship because "it's heavier," said Carell as Bezos. "I guess it's the only book with four chapters out of eleven."
As for the hair, Carell's Bezos unveiled the new Amazon delivery drones made more enjoyable with Trump wigs.
"The hair style is completely random," he said. "I just wanted something that looked so silly that everyone knows it's wrong."
