Stipe Miocic says that he offered to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 230 for the heavyweight title

The drama surrounding the main event of UFC 230 ended on Tuesday with the news that Daniel Cormier to defend his UFC heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis in the star of the Madison Square Garden map on November 3rd. In case you have not noticed, Lewis is not Stipe Miocic – the man Cormier won the championship of the one who deserves a rematch after defending the belt a record three times consecutive.

This problem goes a little further than the fact that UFC does not offer revenge to the former champion, though. In an SMS addressed to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, Miocic revealed that he wanted to help save the card that was empty of a solid main event for so long, but the UFC had neglected to serve him the opportunity to recover the title of heavyweight champion.

"I was negotiating to offer the title and help save this card, but I have never been offered [Cormier], "Said Miocic. I would fight [Cormier] It does not matter when anywhere. I can not wait to get my belt back. "

Miocic did not put an end to his frustration in the message sent to ESPN. The former heavyweight champion then went on Twitter, posting a video after his defeat to Cormier in July at UFC 226, where he believes himself victorious nine times out of 10.

Cormier, who has never backed down from a social media battle, responded by promising Miocic that he could have the next shot if Brock Lesnar was unable to fight for any reason. Miocic's rebuttal included his offering to fight Cormier with minimal preparation.

Despite the first round Loss of TKO against Cormier in July, the competitor who set a record for the defense of the heavyweight title should be on the front row for a shot at the new champion. But it has long been assumed that promotion did not view Miocic as a marketable personality. As a result, he probably had no chance from the start of appearing at the Madison Square Garden magnitude. We are now wondering if Miocic will ever have the chance to recover his title.
