A New York woman admitted to having fabricated her story to the police, claiming that a group of teenagers had shouted her "Trump 2016" and had left the note "Go Home" after cutting her tires, indicated the police.
Adwoa Lewis, 19, was arrested and charged with making a false statement following a "thorough investigation" into her claims earlier this month, Nassau County police said on Saturday.
Lewis provided a written statement to the investigators that four teenagers had faced her on 1 September at approximately 11:15 pm while she was driving on Jackson Street on Long Island. She said teens had shouted "Trump 2016!" And told her she did not belong here.

The authorities opened an investigation into the possible hate crime and found that the detailed Lewis confrontation had never occurred.
She later admitted to the police that she had written the note and placed it on her own car.
Lewis was arrested on Friday and released on a ticket. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 24.
