VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The Air Force warns residents of California's central coast to prepare for unusual images and sounds this weekend as SpaceX attempts to make its first rocket comeback for a launch on the west coast.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket must launch a satellite in orbit from the Vandenberg Air Base at 19:21. Saturday.

The first stage of the Falcon will then return to Vandenberg and settle in a landing zone on the coastal base.

The 30th Space Squadron said that residents could see several engines down on the first floor and that there could be one or more sonic booms.

SpaceX flew thruster flights to land after launches from Florida, but has not yet done so in California.
