Fruit fly brain studies can help unlock the mysteries Alzheimer's disease and pave the way for new treatments for neurodegenerative disorder, say the scientists.
A new dementia research institute, established at Cardiff University in the UK, includes a flies research laboratory. The fruit fly has many genes that resemble those of Alzheimer's disease in humans, said researchers.

Paul Morgan, professor of immunology in Cardiff, will try to better understand these mechanisms.
