We have crossed our fingers for the fall and we finally realize our wish.

Temperatures will drop 20 degrees overnight, bringing daytime highs to a comfortable fall average of 60.

Hopefully that will stay at this time.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will form on Wednesday night before the approach of the cold front. Strong to strong storms will be possible, with strong winds being the main threat, said the National Weather Service.

After the rain, the week will be crisp with temperatures between 60 and 50 years. The heat and rain break will last until Sunday, when showers will be possible.

And to add to the cold that is heading towards us, this weekend can bring frost. Forecasters have stated that a partial freeze would be possible on Saturday morning.

Here is what to expect:

Wednesday: Chance of showers from 11:00 Cloudy, with a maximum of 81. Wind south 5 to 11 mph. The probability of precipitation is 50 percent. Night showers and thunderstorms.
