BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – If you plan to drive on a California highway Sunday after Thanksgiving, expect a lot of company. AAA travel experts believe that the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the Thanksgiving holiday season.
Auto Club experts estimate that more than 6.8 million drivers will be on California roads from Thanksgiving to Sunday. It's the most anticipated Thanksgiving engine since 2005.
If you plan to travel, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Bryan Hunt has some additional tips for you. He indicated his intention to leave sooner or later to try to drive before or after rush hour. And if you are sleepy while driving, you stop to eat, take a nap or walk. He also told drivers to avoid distractions by allowing their passengers to read instructions, answer phone calls and send SMS messages.
And finally Sgt. Hunt said, be courteous on the road help. Motorists rarely arrive at their destination much faster when driving with rage while driving. And if someone drives faster behind you, move to let him pass.
