Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj expressed sympathy for the death of an Indian student during an attempted robbery in Kansas City in the United States United and provided all the necessary assistance to the family of the deceased.

According to Kansas authorities, Sharath Koppu, a native of Telangana, was fatally injured during an alleged robbery at a restaurant where he was working. He died shortly after being taken to hospital on Friday.

Sharath Koppu was pursuing his master's degree in the United States.

"Kansas incident – My sincere condolences to the bereaved family We will follow all this with the police and provide all the help to the family," tweeted Ms. Swaraj.

M. Koppu from Telangana was a software engineer who came to the United States in January.

"An Indian student was victim of a shootout in Kansas City, Missouri.We are in touch with his family and the police.We will provide any assistance.Our officers are also on the Kansas City Road (sic), "The Consulate General of India in Chicago tweeted yesterday.
