WASHINGTON – Police identified the suspect involved in a kidnapping and sexual assault in Woodbridge, Virginia early Tuesday morning.

Prince William County police identified 26-year-old Adam-Seth Walter in relation to evidence found at the scene. The police apprehended him in the area during an independent investigation.

The victim, an 11 year old girl, was going to school when she saw Walter approaching her. Walter then reportedly seized the victim and suggested that he had a weapon, according to a press release.

At the same time, a local resident stood in front of her house and watched Walter with the victim. Walter allegedly beat the witness, identified as a 34-year-old woman, several times before forcing her as well as the girl to enter the woman's home.

Another person inside the house heard the fight and tried to intervene. Walter then fled the residence with the girl in tow. After Walter left the residence, the woman immediately called the police.

Walter took the girl to an address on Cumberland Drive where he sexually assaulted her. After the alleged assault, Walter released the victim and escaped on foot. The girl approached a police officer stationed in the area shortly thereafter.

The girl and the woman were taken to a hospital in the area for treatment.

Walter was arrested for several crimes, including kidnapping, rape, buggery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is detained without bail.
