The incident began with the call of a stolen pickup truck in Osakis and ended with the suspect hitting a garage in Sauk Center, according to a Stearns County press release.

The suspect then fled to a Sauk Center home. Officers evacuated the immediate neighborhood and began negotiating with the suspect, the statement said.

At around 11 am, several agencies, including the SWAT team, reacted to the scene after shots were fired.

According to the statement, the suspect, who has not yet been named by the police, reportedly beat Stearns MP Paul Orvis with an arrow from the bow of the owner's house. More than one policeman fought back, according to Stearns County officials.

Two hours later, the suspect was arrested with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and buttocks and a hand injury, the sheriff's office said.

Orvis was sent to a hospital in Sauk Center and transferred to another hospital. The deputy was in good condition, the sheriff's office said.
