A Giants quarterback meeting with former coach Tom Coughlin is too logical to ignore.
That's why he continues to be restless.
The latest spate of speculation that began in 2017 is courtesy of Mike Francesa of WFAN – who criticized the talent, leadership and performance of the Giants this week – and Tim Hasselbeck of ESPN.
Hasselbeck was a young backup quarterback from Manning in the 2005-06 seasons.
"What do New Yorkers do when they reach the end of their career, what do they do?" Hasselbeck said Sunday countdown. "They're moving to Florida, I'm going to make a solid Eli Manning, I'll be trading against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jacksonville has a team, they're running.
"Eli Manning will be forever a giant, there will be a statue of him on the outside of this stadium, it must end one day." Why not go out on a good one? note?"

Of course, there is nothing to indicate that Manning's trade – who lives in North Jersey with his wife and three young daughters – is doing him a favor. He made it clear that he wanted to be with the giants.
And he certainly would not want to "party" because he bears the main responsibility for the start of the Giants game on a score of 1 to 5 and a foul far behind the times in the NFL.

Bortles is considered a weak link for a team with a dominant defense and a quick attack.
Bortles completed 61.6% of his passes for 1,525 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions and a score of 82.4. Manning completed 68.7% of his passes for 1,662 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions and a score of 90.9.
"The best thing to do is create a team that he might be able to help," Francesa said on the Mike's On application. "Sit down and wait, if someone is hurt, maybe he could help them somewhere.Go to Jacksonville and sit behind (Blake) Bortles.And if Bortles stinks, place- the in the match and see if he can win playoffs for Jacksonville.I doubt that will happen. "
The Giants lost the first game of the season against the Jaguars after Coughlin returned to MetLife Stadium.
"It's obvious that we still have excellent relationships with coach Coughlin," Manning said in September. "We cherish the time we have had and we appreciate those 12 years of his coaching career."
The Jaguars said the Coughlin-era bust bill, Ereck Flowers, was escaping the Giants' waiver this week, in a move almost as amazing as a Manning trade sound.
