ALLEN PARK – T.J. Lang's season is over.

The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday afternoon He's currently dealing with a neck injury that is holding him back against Chicago.

Lang has been a good player for Detroit since joining his hometown team last season, and even made the Pro Bowl that year. But the injuries have derailed his career. He missed three games in 2017 because of brain, back and foot injuries, and was limited much of the year.

But none of his injuries would be expected in his life. Instead, it broke down even more.

Lang has played just 282 snaps while battling brain, back, hip and neck injuries. He's played in just one full game all season. And with his move to IR now official, the question becomes whether he's ever played his final game in Detroit.

He is set to count $ 11.7 million against the cape next season, with $ 2.7 million in dead money. That's $ 9 million in potential savings cap if Detroit moves on.

Mike Ford, who still leaves one spot open roster.
