Taco Bell is neither Mexican food nor a Mexican restaurant

As a native of Los Angeleno, I recognize that I grew up with a certain amount of privileges over tacos. I live mainly in northern Mexico, and good authentic tacos and Mexican food can be found relatively easily with minimal effort. That's one of the benefits of living here, and I do not take it for granted. I eat tacos all the time. I love tacos and I celebrate "Taco Tuesday" as if it was the birthday of my own mother.

You understand my point

That said, I also recognize that there are many people who have taco problems. I am not taco, in general. I know there are people living in some sort of Mexican food void where they do not have much access to authentic tacos or burritos, and I pity them because they miss some of the simplest pleasures of life. It's terrible.

Yet, even if you are a person living in a place that lacks Mexican food options, this would not dispense you from declaring Taco Bell as the best Mexican restaurant in the country. As if that's all you need to contribute to the conversation, say less.

The Harris Poll's EquiTrend study measures the health of the brand over time based on three factors: familiarity, quality and consideration of the purchase. On the basis of the ratings they receive, brands are given a risk-capital rating and those with the highest ratings receive the "Brand of the Year" award in their respective category.

More than 77,000 people aged 15 and over participated in surveys that ran from January 3 to February 15. They have evaluated more than 3,000 different brands in more than 300 categories.

And so it is that this group of people decided that Taco Bell was the best Mexican restaurant in the United States of America. Taco Bell. I do not invent it.

In their defense, they did not work much with them. Their choices in this category include Baja Fresh, Del Taco and Qdoba.

Build a wall around all these people; they deserve it.

Taco Bell is not Mexican food, just as the IHOP is not suddenly better at hamburgers than at pancakes. Stay in your way. It's good. We will respect you more for that.

I say that as a person who will eat Taco Bell when it is late and I have cravings, but at no time do I tell myself that I am going to eat Mexican food. If Taco Bell is the best in the country, it's the best stoner food. Give them a price for that.

It should be noted other interesting choices from the list.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries was voted the best burger restaurant, which leads me to believe that these people have not known The hamburgers of Jesus In-N-Out before. Five Guys is overrated. Argue with someone else

Chick-Fil-A was voted Best Chicken Restaurant and I'm starting to notice a strange pattern here.

The Weather Channel has been voted the best news channel and we need to ask what's going on in the media world.
