A Florida Taco Bell fired one of its Spanish-speaking employees for refusing to serve a customer in English on Wednesday night.

In a video of the incident at Taco Bell in Hialeah, Miami, shared with social media on Thursday, one can hear the server, whose identity is unknown, saying to Alexandria Montgomery: "No habla ingles "[I] do not speak English."

Montgomery asks the employee to take the manager, but then asks him to go to another Taco Bell for service. The employee then threatened to call the police after Montgomery refused to leave.

"There are cars out there," said the employee, while Montgomery and a friend sit at the wheel. "No one here speaks English."

"So you can not take my order? You do not understand what I say? She says.

Montgomery's frustration increases after the employee has closed the window.

"I try to order and she tells me that I can not order because I do not speak English. Who's wrong? What did I do wrong? She said in the clip, before leaving the scene without ordering.

After the incident, Montgomery reported the incident to Taco Bell officials and apologized for the way she had been treated.

"This lady understood what I said but did not want to take my order," she later wrote on Facebook.

In a statement, obtained by CBS Miami, Taco Bell confirmed that the employee was fired as a result of the incident.

"It does not meet the expectations of our customers. We quickly worked with the client to make sure this did not happen again. The individual no longer works for the brand, "said the company.

On Friday, Montgomery told CBS Miami that the meeting made him feel "as if I did not belong here and grew up here all my life."

"I want this to happen so that people can know and be aware of situations like this so that it does not happen again," she added.
