Taron Egerton Says He Will not Return As Eggsy In Next Kingsman Movie

Taron Egerton confirms he will not return as Eggsy for the next Kingsman movie. After successful launching the franchise in 2014, director Matthew Vaughn has been looking to expand the world based on the Mark Millar IP. Unfortunately for fans and Egerton, the next step does not include the charming secret agent.

Egerton becomes the latest in-demand Kingsman: The Secret Service. He's done his best to diversify his roles with Eddie the Eagle or the upcoming Elton John biopic, but returned as Eggsy last year for Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Although the critical reception was well received, the movie was still going strong, and the Fox and Vaughn story was still going strong. The plan appeared to be for Kingsman 3 to film early next year, followed immediately by the prequel Kingsman: The Great Game. Eggsy and Harry Hart (Colin Firth) to remain the stars.

Something appears to have changed star franchise Taron Egerton says he's not going to appear in the next Kingsman movie. This was revealed in an interview with Yahoo during Egerton's press tour for his next action Robin Hood. As shocking, it will be possible to learn the next installment of the franchise.

I do not know how to get along, but I think it's okay, I'm not in the next Kingsman movie. That does not mean I will not be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] We're still very much in business together, but it's not going to involve us … His idea for the new one is incredibly exciting. I'm sad that I do not want to be here but it's not the last you've seen of Eggsy.

The most logical explanation for Eggsy is not appearing in the next Kingsman movie is the next movie is going to be The Great Game and not Kingsman 3. The first two films are rooted in Eggsy and Harry's relationship, so it would be a major surprise to see them half of the duet – especially if the one being left out is Egerton. If this is what is happening with the franchise, then the news November 2019 release date is actually for The Great Game, instead of Kingsman 3 as previously believed.

Based on the news rollout surrounding The Great GameIt is not surprising that Eggsy out. It was already reported that Harris Dickinson was recruited to star and Ralph Fiennes would also play a major role. More recent rumors pointed to Rachel Weisz and Brad Pitt being eyed for roles as well. All of these roles are filled and the prequel easily makes sense of Eggsy's absence.

with The Great Game Potentially looking to be next up, Egerton will not be the only one Kingsman star to not return. Although Vaughn's plans have not been officially announced, it would be unlikely that Harry or any of the Statesmen characters would also appear. Since Egerton is at least teasing Eggsy 's return, hopefully we will get to see what comes next for the Kingsman star before it is too late.
