Taylor Swift broke a record Tuesday night at the American Music Awards, but that is his ongoing political activism that is attracting more and more attention.

The pop star won four awards during the evening, but kept her most outstanding words to encourage people to go out and vote in November.
"This award and all the prizes awarded tonight are subject to the vote of the people and you know what else is voted by the people? The mid-term elections of November 6," said Swift after receiving the prize of the best artist of the year.

In addition to winning the Artist of the Year award, she has also won awards from favorite Pop / Rock, her favorite Pop / Rock for "Reputation" and the Tour of the Year.
Swift has now won 23 AMAs in her career, breaking the record previously held by Whitney Houston.
Swift made headlines earlier in the week by breaking with his apolitical ideas to encourage voters to support two Democratic candidates in his home state of Tennessee. She posted support on her Instagram page – with 112 million subscribers – for Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and US House candidate Jim Cooper.

I can not vote for someone who will not want to fight for the dignity of ALL Americans, no matter the color of their skin, their gender or the ones they like. In the state of Tennessee, a woman named Marsha Blackburn is a candidate in the Senate. Although in the past and I want to continue to vote for women in office, I can not support Marsha Blackburn. His voting record in Congress bothers me and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the law on the re-authorization of violence against women, which aims to protect women from domestic violence, criminal harassment and date rape. She believes that businesses have the right to refuse to serve gay couples. She also thinks that they should not have the right to get married. These are not my Tennessee values. I will vote for Phil Bredesen in the Senate and Jim Cooper in the House of Representatives. For many of us, it is possible that we never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on each point, but we still have to vote.
