In Sugar Land, Cruz used himself as an example of civility in politics and spoke of three CNN debates he had attended last year with US Senator Bernie Sanders, a Vermont Democrat.
He said the two had diametrically opposed political views but had managed to keep the peace.
"We treated each other with respect and civility, which is an example I would like to see develop in politics," he said.
Cruz also said that the most disturbing rage and fury came from "the far left".
"We know the left left, they are angry, they are filled with rage and fury and many of them have hatred for President Trump," he said in his speech.
He said the Liberals had a more "generalized" anger. But he acknowledged that last week, prominent Democrats, including the Clinton and President Barack Obama, were targeted by homemade bombs.
"It's a case of crime and attempted murder," he said.
A week and a half from the end of the elections, Cruz toured his homeland Saturday, raising Republican issues in Sugar Land and Katy.
During his stay in Sugar Land, he reminded voters to support Congressman Pete Olson, who is facing an increasingly competitive race in the District of Houston against Democrat Sri Preston Kulkarni.
