BOSTON (AP) – A teenager is credited with helping a blind and deaf man on a flight from Boston to Portland, Oregon.
Clara Daly, of Calabasas, Calif., Says that she and her mother were traveling last week when flight attendants asked if anyone knew American sign language.
The 15 year old teenager had been taking sign language classes for a year and volunteered to help. It was then that she met Tim Cook, 64, who was traveling alone and had trouble communicating.
Another passenger captured a photo of Clara signing in Cook's hand and posted it on Facebook on Sunday. The position has since received more than 1 million likes.
Cook told KGW-TV that he was "very moved" that Clara came to help him. Clara says their chance meeting was "supposed to be".
