Tehran has denied reports that its embassy in Ankara was evacuated following a bomb plot, the Iranian media reported, citing the Foreign Ministry. Security has nevertheless been strengthened, he added.
Earlier, Turkish news agencies reported that local security had discovered a notice of a possible bomb attack and that the Iranian ambassador had been evacuated from the building. It was also said that the area near the site had been cordoned off.
However, this information was subsequently refuted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Press TV reported.
An Iranian official at the diplomatic mission also confirmed that all staff were present at the embassy and that it was open to consular activities, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
An increased Turkish security presence was seen around the embassy, but Iranian officials were not aware of the reasons for which they did so.
A Reuters TV cameraman also said that the complex was functioning normally, while describing an increased presence of Turkish police around the site.

Turkish police searched a number of cars and the road on which the embassy is located. Although temporarily closed, the road has now been reopened to traffic.
Enhanced security at the Iranian embassy comes after two attacks against the Iranian embassies in Paris and Athens last month.

On 14 September, a demonstration by Kurdish activists outside the Paris embassy resulted in protesters breaking embassy windows and throwing fire extinguishers and computers at the gate.
Three days later, Greek anarchists broke windows and threw red paint on the court of the Iranian embassy in Athens.
The attack on Greece was claimed by the Rubicon Group, which called the assault a gesture of solidarity with the "Kurds of Iran" according to AFP.
