Tekashi 6ix9ine Pleads Not Guilty of Federal Charges, Trial Date Set

Tekashi 6ix9ine pleaded not guilty to federal charges of racketeering and firearms, TMZ reports and Pitchfork. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for January 22, 2019 and the trial is scheduled for September 4, 2019, according to a spokesman for the United States Department of Justice. 6ix9ine, along with his co-defendants who also pleaded not guilty, are still in detention. Pitchfork has contacted representatives for 6ix9ine.

Sixteenth and several of his associates were arrested in New York City on November 18 for federal criminal charges. According to the indictment under eight counts, 6ix9ine and the other defendants have "participated in the operation and management" of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. The indictment accuses gang members of murder, robbery, assault, drug sales, and so on. Two of the charges against 6ix9ine are punishable by a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Before his arrest, 6ix9ine had planned to release his new album DUMMY BOY November 23. After the arrest, the Tekashi team postponed the publication of the disc "due to circumstances beyond our control". This week-end, DUMMY BOY was leaked after the temporary sale of the album as a digital download on the rapper's online store.
