An American TV presenter has been criticized on social media after posting photos of her with dead goats and a deer during a hunting trip to Scotland.
Larysa Switlyk suggested killing one of the goats and her friend Jason killed the other animals on the picturesque island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides.
The huntress, who hosts her own show in the United States, Larysa Unleashed, has posted on Twitter an image of her fellow hunt posing with one of her murders.
She wrote in the message: "Congratulations to Jason for his gold medal (sic).
"A unique hunt."
Judy Murray, the mother of tennis star Andy, from Scotland, said: "A unique hunt?
"It's a goat, and it's in Scotland, on a beautiful island.
"Stop it please @ Scotgov."
In another image, Mrs. Switlyk crouched next to a goat that she apparently killed and she wrote: "Beautiful wild goat here … A hunt as fun!
"They live on the edge of the cliffs of the island and know how to hide (sic)."
She added, "We looked for a big ball for two days and we finally managed to be part of that group, we made a perfect 200 yard shot and dropped it."
The tweet drew over 5,000 comments Wednesday afternoon, with many social media users expressing their disgust for the image.
Mererid, a Twitter user, wrote: "It's really terrible!"
"Bring her back to America! Pure Evil !!"
Nuala Bugeye wrote: "I can not imagine how inadequate it is to kill and be photographed with their" trophy "goat."
Ms. Switlyk, who is featured on her website as a "world-renowned hunter", also shared a photo of her with her hunting partner next to a dead deer.
She wrote: "Proud of Jason and his second Red Stag mount here in Scotland … talks about the status of the gold medal."
Siobhan Thompson, a Twitter user, responded, "Stay away from our wildlife.
"You are not wanted here or by any of your peers."
After the release of the images, MSP Argyll and Bute, Mike Russell, announced that he would raise the issue with Environmental Secretary Roseanna Cunningham.
He tweeted: "As a local member of @ScotParl, I raise this issue urgently with @strathearnrose – if it actually happens on #Islay and imposed by some sort of travel agency, I'm not sure. would like it to be immediately stopped. "
Sarah Moyes, OneKind activist against animal cruelty, said, "It is absolutely shocking to see these images of Larysa Switlyk and other hunters posing for photos with the wild animals they killed during the war. a recent trip to Scotland.
"Once again, instead of celebrating the magnificent Scottish fauna, we see these beautiful animals exploited in the name of sport.
"This is not the type of tourism that we should encourage in Scotland, let alone allow this to happen in the 21st century."
