The client of D.C. Chick-fil-A was furious, shouting at other customers, walking behind the counter, shouting at the employees and responding to the manager's request to leave with a punch.
The violence that followed was the subject of a video that ran around the Internet, a viral struggle with lasting consequences for the employee and the client become fighters.
The video shows Chick-fil-A, a 27-year-old manager in Northwestern Washington, Tenleytown, straddling the 55-year-old client and punching the older man's face.
Then the fight spread to the ground, where the punching continued before another man removed the director.
Later, we can see another employee pulling the client's legs furious out of him.
Police called on the scene arrested the client, whom Sean Turner, a spokesman for the police, identified as 55 years old.
According to the spokesman, Turner "started the altercation; and that's why he was arrested.

He was taken to a police station, ticketed to appear in court, and released, which is common for those accused of minor misdemeanors.
Turner was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. He could not be reached immediately for a comment.
The official – identified as a victim in the police report – was not arrested, but "no longer works in the restaurant," Chick-fil-A said in a statement emailed to the Washington Post.
"This video is incredibly disturbing to watch, and we do not tolerate in any way the violence or reaction of the team member," the statement said.
"The restaurateurs of our franchise and the members of their team strive to create a safe and welcoming environment and treat all guests with dignity and respect. This situation is not up to our brand's commitment to hospitality, and for that we are really sorry. "
The fight joins a long lineage of viral fighting featuring fast-food employees and customers that they do not believe to be right.
In April, an employee and a customer were registered in a fight against a Burger King in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Fox News reported.
And, over the summer, two employees at a Las Vegas McDonald's have hit and launched a customer, according to TMZ. The client was apparently trying to use a cup of water to fetch some soda, and then threw a milkshake at the workers involved.
